Joseph Rolnicki
Joseph joined Sandberg Phoenix in 2021. He practices intellectual property law in the firm's Intellectual Property practice group. He is registered with the United States Patent and Trademark Office and is a former Patent Office Primary Examiner. He has extensive experience in preparing and prosecuting patent and trademark applications in the United States and in many foreign countries.
Joseph’s patent preparation and prosecution experience encompasses technologies including aircraft components, conveyor systems, footwear, gear transmissions, HVAC components, manually operated liquid dispensers, modular building components, motor lubrication systems, product packaging, sheet metal conditioning apparatus, specialty tools, surgical instruments and devices, valve assemblies, vehicle suspension systems and many others. He is also experienced in the preparation of confidentiality, license, assignment, trade secret and other agreements, and in preparing patentability, validity and infringement/freedom-of-use opinions.
His years of experience in preparing and prosecuting patent applications has resulted in the issuing of hundreds of U.S. Patents in various technical fields. His past experience as a Patent Office Examiner gives him a special insight into the procedures practiced at the Patent Office in the handling of patent applications, from their filing to their issuance as patents.
Joseph is co-inventor of U.S. Patent No. 5,378,103, titled “Door Transporting and Elevating Apparatus”. He is also an avid baseball, football and hockey fan and enjoys spending time with his wife and two young children.
