Philip Polster is Counsel at Sandberg Phoenix and has many years of experience in drafting, prosecuting and analyzing patents in wide-ranging fields. He has comprehensive experience in U.S. and international trademark registration proceedings and in patent and trademark licensing.
His industry experience includes biochemistry, polymer chemistry, electric motors and motor controls, radar systems, missile guidance, fluid flow measurement, potable water hydrants, optics, lighting fixtures, toys, internal engine cooling systems, heavy vehicle suspensions, plating processes, fire resistant coatings, dental equipment, archery equipment, subminiature fuses and glass tube manufacturing, among others.
Philip enjoys tennis, bridge, genealogy and singing in his church choir. He has been married to Harriet since 1961 and has three children (two of whom are patent attorneys) and ten grandchildren.
Philip earned his Juris Doctor from Washington University School of Law and was a member of Order of the Coif. He earned his Bachelor of Arts from the College of Quantitative Studies (chemistry and mathematics), Wesleyan University.
He is a member of the Bar Association of Metropolitan St. Louis (Chairman, Patent Section in 1982), the Missouri Bar Association and the American Intellectual Property Law Association.
He is admitted to practice in the state of Missouri and before the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office, the Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit and the U.S. District Court, Eastern District of Missouri.
