Shareholder Jonathan Soifer provides intellectual property legal services for many individuals and small, medium and large companies as well as major corporations. He concentrates his practice in patent, trademark and copyright matters. He has extensive experience in preparing and prosecuting patent and trademark applications. He conducts patentability and freedom-to-operate searches, infringement and validity studies, prepares and negotiates licenses and other agreements and conducts trademark clearance searches.
Jonathan has provided services in a diverse range of technologies including agricultural equipment, automotive, bearings, boat docks/marinas, chemical processes and coatings, clothing, medical and dental instruments, playground equipment, safety equipment and software.
Jonathan, his wife and two children live in St. Louis County. Jonathan enjoys hiking, biking, photography and theater.
Jonathan earned his Juris Doctor from Washington University School of Law and was a Phi Alpha Delta. Prior to law school, he earned his Bachelor of Science in Chemical Engineering from the Washington University.
He is a member of the Bar Association of Metropolitan St. Louis (Member, Patent, Trademark and Copyright Section) and the Missouri Bar Association.
Jonathan is a member of the St. Louis Chapter of Rotary International, the World’s largest international service organization.
He is licensed to practice law in the State of Missouri and before the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office, the U.S. District Court, Eastern District of Missouri, the U.S. District Court, Central District of Illinois, the U.S. Court of Appeals, Federal Circuit and the U.S. Court of Appeals, Eighth Circuit.
