Biography

Phil Graham brings more than 20 years of legal experience to the Business Litigation and Products Liability Practice Groups at Sandberg Phoenix. Phil’s diverse business and products liability litigation practice includes matters such as enforcement and defense of contract rights and other contractual matters, business torts including fraud, negligent misrepresentation, tortious interference with business relations, trade secrets and other intellectual property. He is also an experienced employment litigation lawyer having defended all types of employment discrimination and wrongful termination lawsuits and administrative matters, as well as litigation involving non-compete, non-solicitation and non-disclosure agreements.

Additionally, Phil has developed significant expertise in virtually every aspect of real estate litigation, with an emphasis in commercial real estate disputes, including everything from boundary disputes and partition matters to complex litigation involving title insurance and real estate contract disputes.

Phil has defended a broad range of products facing liability claims, including various types of industrial machinery and equipment, building materials, consumer products and medical devices, all from a variety of industries.

For fun, Phil enjoys running and recently completed his first full marathon, after having completed several half marathons. He spends most of his free time with his wife, Amy and children Matthew and Jenna, serving as a scout leader and watching his kids play soccer, lacrosse and softball. Phil is also an avid guitarist and attends concerts and shows frequently. On Saturdays in the fall, you can find him rooting on the Mizzou Tigers football team.

Background

After earning his bachelor’s in finance and banking from the University of Missouri-Columbia, Phil studied law at the University of Missouri-Columbia School of Law. Phil practiced law with Helfrey, Neiers and Jones for 18 years in their office in Clayton, which has since joined the Sandberg Phoenix family. Previously, he was an associate with a large defense firm in downtown St. Louis.

Phil is a member of the Bar Association of Metropolitan St. Louis, the Missouri Bar Association and the Missouri Organization of Defense Lawyers.

As a financial board member for St. Mary Magdalen in Brentwood, Phil manages their annual 5k race, helping raise funds for his parish.

For his outstanding work in Real Estate Law, Phil was selected by his peers as a Best Lawyer for inclusion in Best Lawyers in America in 2016 and 2017.

Phil is licensed to practice law in Missouri and is admitted to practice before the U.S. Court of Appeals 8th Circuit, U.S. District Court Eastern and Western Districts of Missouri, and U.S. District Court Central and Southern District of Illinois and. Phil is also regularly admitted pro hac vice to handle litigation for clients in courts around the country.
