Biography

Bringing nearly 30 years of legal experience, Philip R. Dupont joined Sandberg Phoenix in 2014 from a large Kansas City law firm. Phil regularly counsels and defends companies facing complex commercial liability litigation matters, representing entities ranging in size from local operations to Fortune 500 corporations. In his products liability practice, Phil defends warranty and defect claims against manufacturers and distributors of a wide range of products including medical devices, appliance components, farm machinery and industrial supplies. He also works with hospital risk and claims managers to defend against medical malpractice claims and handle other litigation matters.

Outside his legal practice, Phil is an avid woodworker and wine collector. He also enjoys music and traveling, especially to Napa Valley, where he explores the local vineyards to add a few bottles to his collection.

Background

Graduating with a bachelor’s degree from Rhodes College, Phil went on to earn his Juris Doctorate from the University of Missouri – Columbia School of Law.

Phil is a member of the Association of Women Lawyers, the American Bar Association, the Kansas Bar Association and the Missouri Bar Association. He formerly served on the Executive Board of Directors for the University of Missouri – Kansas City Conservatory of Music.

Phil has also been honored with the AV® Preeminent Peer Review Rating from Martindale-Hubbell, its highest rating for ethics and legal ability.

Phil is licensed to practice law in the states of Missouri and Kansas and before the U.S. Supreme Court, U.S. District Courts for the District of Kansas, Western District of Missouri and District of Colorado, as well as the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Eighth and Tenth Circuits.
