A shareholder at Sandberg Phoenix, Doug Whitlock joined the firm in 2011, and is lead of the Business practice group. He was recently appointed to the head of the Corporate Industry Team. Among his areas of practice are general business law, including entity formation, governance and agreements; business transactions such as mergers and acquisitions, buy-sell arrangements, joint ventures, leasing and licenses; general contract drafting and negotiations; commercial lending and complex real estate transactions. Doug works with a variety of business entities, including corporations, limited liability companies and partnerships, as well as sole proprietors, and offers them a wide range of legal services.
Coming to Sandberg Phoenix from a full service firm in the Northeast, Doug’s focus remains on providing high-quality work and very responsive client service, from helping new business ventures get off the ground to guiding business owners through transactions and contract negotiation. His wealth of experience in business law has established Doug as a trusted advisor to whom his clients can turn for a myriad of matters.
Doug limits his services to privately owned businesses rather than public companies, focusing on the unique challenges and opportunities facing such businesses.
A Missouri native, after practicing in the Northeast for several years, Doug returned to St. Louis in 2011 with his wife and daughter to be closer to their family and Cardinals baseball. In his free time, Doug enjoys cycling, swimming, racquetball and squash.
