Nick is one of the firm’s senior land lawyers. He handles a variety of complex litigation matters at both the trial and appellate levels in Missouri, Illinois and the federal system, most of which possess a real estate component.
Because Nick must understand the various transactional intricacies of the real estate disputes he litigates in court, he has also developed a niche for resolving land defects and disputes before suit is filed through informal negotiations and voluntary ADR.
Under the land umbrella, Nick litigates disputes concerning commercial and residential real estate, title insurance, construction contracts and mechanic’s liens, construction disbursing, land partition, commercial leases, easements, municipal liability, collections and land tax sales.
He also frequently does work for lending institutions, title insurance agencies and underwriters, real estate brokers and agents, general contractors, commercial land owners, commercial landlords and entrepreneurs.
Aside from real estate litigation, Nick defends consumer protection cases brought under the FDCPA, TCPA and other federal and state consumer protection statutes. Accordingly, he is a member of the firm’s Insurance and Professional Liability teams.
Whether working with individuals or publically traded companies, Nick strives to efficiently achieve his clients’ unique goals and fosters both loyalty and trust by securing creative, cost-effective solutions for them.
Outside of his legal practice, Nick enjoys spending time with his wife and being a dad. His two young boys have already shown a predilection for persuasion and advocacy, skills which they hone each day. He is also a sports and music enthusiast and enjoys local concerts, coaching his sons’ teams and cheering for the Cards and Jayhawks.
