As recognition of their outstanding service to the firm and the clients they serve, Sandberg Phoenix has named Jennifer Miller-Louw, Timothy O’Leary and Douglas Whitlock as new Shareholders.

Jennifer Miller-Louw joined Sandberg Phoenix in 2005 as an Associate in the St. Louis office, before moving to Sandberg Phoenix Carbondale in 2008, and has developed considerable experience in health law, medical malpractice and business litigation. Working with clients including physicians, hospitals, nursing homes and business owners, Jennifer has represented them in all aspects of litigation, including investigation, discovery, motion practice, mediation, trail preparation and trial. She has also briefed and argued before appellate courts in both Missouri and Illinois, and particularly thrives on proactively counseling business owners regarding standards of care and best practices, including drafting policies of procedures.

Timothy O’Leary has served as an Associate at Sandberg Phoenix since he joined in 2008, and practices primarily in the firm’s Business Litigation practice group. Prior to joining the firm, Tim gained several years of experience with smaller litigation firms in Illinois and Missouri and then joined the Office of the Circuit Attorney for the City of St. Louis prosecuting serious offenses. He has first-chaired more than forty jury trials and countless bench trials. In recognition of his trial abilities, The Missouri Bar Foundation selected Tim to receive the prestigious Lon O. Hocker Award in 2006.

Douglas Whitlock came to Sandberg Phoenix from a full-service firm in the Northeast in 2011 as an Associate and serves as a member of the Business practice group. Among his areas of expertise are general business law, including formation, governance and agreements; business transactions such as mergers and acquisitions, buy-sell arrangements, joint ventures, leasing and licenses; general contract drafting and negotiations; commercial lending and complex real estate transactions. Doug works with a variety of business entities, including corporations, limited liability companies as well as sole proprietors and offers a wide range of legal services. His expertise and wealth of experience in business law has established Doug as a trusted advisor to whom his clients can turn for a myriad of matters.

In their new roles, Jennifer, Tim and Doug will continue to provide expert legal counsel to clients throughout the Midwest and across the country.
