Abbey Hammack

Abbey joined Sandberg Phoenix in 2025 as an attorney in the firm’s St. Louis office. She brings a background in insurance defense, governmental practice, and client advocacy, with hands-on experience from both private and public sector roles.

Abbey graduated summa cum laude from Southeast Missouri State University in 2022 with a Bachelor of Science in Political Science and earned her Juris Doctor from the University of Missouri School of Law in 2025. In recognition of her academic excellence, Abbey received the CALI Award for Elder Law in Fall 2024 at the University of Missouri.

Abbey first connected with Sandberg Phoenix as a 2024 Summer Associate. The year prior, she gained experience as a Summer Associate with Travelers Insurance in Overland Park, Kansas, where she focused on workers’ compensation and general liability defense. During law school, Abbey further strengthened her litigation and client service skills through her work with the Veterans Law Clinic at the University of Missouri and a practicum with the Missouri Attorney General’s Office.

When not at work, Abbey enjoys discovering new recipes to bake, taking her puppy Bruiser on walks, running and training for races, and spending every weekend cheering on the Kansas City Chiefs, a lifelong passion since she was born and raised a fan.
