Ann Bodewes Stephens
Counsel
Ann Stephens joined Sandberg Phoenix in 2018 as counsel. She represents business owners and individuals in a variety of legal matters relating to general business and tax including acquisitions and mergers, contract drafting and negotiations, financing, real estate, choice of entity issues and tax planning. She acts as general outside counsel to various businesses, providing advice on specific issues and managing their general legal matters. Her clients include businesses involved in many industries including manufacturers, fabricators, distributors, construction and service.
Ann also advises individuals and business owners in areas of estate and gift tax planning including drafting of power of attorneys, wills and trusts.
She realizes that often times business owners are in need of legal advice regarding business succession planning and their estate plans. Conversely, many individuals in need of estate plan advice also operate their own business or real estate investments. Ann’s experience in business and estate planning makes her uniquely qualified to assist those individuals and business owners in all facets of their business and estate plan needs.
Ann has a long history of community involvement through her pro bono work with a variety of organizations. She has volunteered with St. Roch School since 2000 and previously provided pro bono support to the Wishing Well Foundation of St. Louis from 1997 to 2003. She has also been actively involved in school communities, serving in a pro bono capacity on the Nerinx High School Mother’s Club Board from 2016 to 2020 and as a Mother Admissions Ambassador and Class Representative for St. Louis University High School from 2012 to 2017. In addition, she served pro bono as a Girl Scout Leader for Troop 1870 from 2011 to 2016.
In her free time, Ann enjoys spending time with her husband and three children.
