Christi Coleman offers firm clients over twenty years of experience in a broad range of labor issues, having litigated labor and employment matters in state and federal courts, arbitration proceedings and state public labor relations boards.
Christi frequently advises governmental entities in areas of Sunshine Law/FOIA compliance, governance issues, and intergovernmental agreements.
Christi also has significant experience in representing employers in union negotiations, serving as lead negotiator and defending employers in grievance proceedings. She has extensive experience in counseling clients in labor and employment issues, focusing on preventing disputes by drafting effective policies, employee agreements, job descriptions and evaluations and frequently delivers presentations on mitigating litigation risks to her clients. Most recently, Christi has counseled clients through a variety of employment issues related to the COVID-19 pandemic, including employee leave requests, unemployment issues, return to work evaluations, and utilization of the CARES Act stimulus funds through the Paycheck Protection Program.
Christi has extensive knowledge of disability-related employment issues such as ADA, FMLA and workers’ compensation, as well as wage and hour law. Christi’s client base is extremely diverse, ranging from small start-ups to large public school districts. She leads the Firm’s Labor and Employment Team.
