Doug joined Sandberg Phoenix in 2011 after practicing in New Hampshire at a full-service corporate firm for 12 years. Areas of practice are limited to business transactional matters, such as mergers, sales and purchases, and providing general counsel to business owners, such as strategy, risk assessment and problem-solving.
Transactional experience includes deals in excess of $100,000,000, with the bulk of his work in the range of $1,000,000 to $50,000,000. He works on both the sell-side and buy-side, works on fund-raising and private placements, and has significant experience with private equity as well as closely-held family owned businesses.
General counsel experience includes navigating difficult family ownership dynamics, responding quickly to emergencies that inevitably arise within an organization and helping management assess previously unforeseen consequences and fixes. Doug prides himself on being thorough, yet practical and calming, yet forceful in his approach.
The types of businesses and assets with which Doug has experience are broad and include industries extending from traditional goods and services like steel manufacturing to more recent like healthcare e-technology.
When not at the office (or working remotely), he and his family like to enjoy the outdoors by traveling to national parks for vacations.
