James Keaney

James (Jim) Keaney joined Sandberg Phoenix in 2021 and is a member of the Business Litigation practice group and Labor & Employment Team. He represents and counsels corporate clients and individuals on a variety of complex labor and employment law issues across many industries. Jim’s practice involves litigation and transactional matters arising under many different federal, state, and local laws and regulations, including but not limited to Title VII and state law workplace discrimination, harassment, hostile work environment and retaliation litigation, employment contract development, consulting and litigation, class-or collective-based wage and hour litigation under the Fair Labor Standards Act and Missouri Minimum Wage Law, United States Department of Labor compliance investigations and audits, OSHA complaints and investigations, restrictive covenant development, consulting and litigation, and federal and state appellate work.

Prior to joining the firm, Jim worked at a local boutique employment law firm for several years. During law school, Jim served as a judicial extern for the Honorable Judge Richard Teitelman at the Missouri Supreme Court. During this time, Jim also interned at Legal Services of Eastern Missouri in the Volunteer Lawyering Program and worked at a small, highly regarded St. Louis firm focused on representing individual and corporate clients in a variety of complex civil and criminal matters.

Outside of the office, Jim enjoys traveling, reading, long walks and hikes with his wife, and rooting on the Ohio State Buckeyes in all sports.
