Maxim D. Van Houtte

Maxim Van Houtte joined Sandberg Phoenix in 2026 and practices in the firm’s Health Law Group. He represents healthcare providers and long-term care facilities in complex litigation involving claims of medical negligence and wrongful death.

Maxim brings strong civil litigation experience to the firm developed through the hands-on representation of healthcare providers, including institutions, long-term care facilities, physicians’ groups, and individual providers, in medical malpractice and wrongful death cases. He also gained considerable experience representing insurance companies, trucking companies, construction companies, automobile dealerships, other companies in cases involving insurance coverage, personal injury, wrongful death, professional liability, and consumer liability.

Maxim’s experience includes second chairing a jury trial in which he helped successfully defend a claim for violation of the Missouri Merchandising Practices Act brought against an automobile dealership.

Outside of the office, Maxim enjoys cooking, St. Louis restaurants, golf, bowling, collecting sneakers, and spending time with his golden retriever, Maverick.
