Shelby joined Sandberg Phoenix in 2021 and is a member of the Health Law practice group, focusing on on healthcare and medical malpractice litigation. She joins the firm with experience in health and medical malpractice litigation, insurance defense and product liability.
Shelby is a graduate of the University of Kentucky College of Law. While in law school, she focused her coursework in healthcare and litigation. Shelby gained litigation experience in federal court while interning for the Honorable Karen Caldwell, U.S. District Judge in the Eastern District of Kentucky. She also clerked with the University of Kentucky Healthcare’s Risk Management team, where she gained a greater understanding of medical malpractice, healthcare regulations and compliance and civil litigation.
Shelby also has clinical experience in the healthcare industry. Prior to attending law school, Shelby obtained her Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Kentucky with a focus in healthcare sciences. Her medical education included training in phlebotomy, laboratory sciences, and nutrition and dietetics. Her clinical observations included rotations in the NICU, Labor and Delivery, ICU and general surgery.
Outside of the office, spending time with her King Charles Cavalier Spaniel named Winston, reading and playing the card game rook.
