Teresa Manzo Straatmann

Teresa is a Senior Paralegal in the firm’s Business Litigation Practice group and brings more than sixteen years of experience in default servicing and real estate title matters. She joined Sandberg Phoenix in 2024 and continues to focus on default related work while supporting a broad range of litigation matters in Florida, Illinois, and Missouri.

Teresa manages cases involving breach of contract and breach of guaranty, replevin actions for the recovery of equipment and vehicles, and post judgment collection efforts that include garnishments, writs, levies, and other recovery tools. She also assists with foreclosure matters across multiple states. She currently leads the Illinois foreclosure work and supports Missouri and Florida matters as needed. Her background includes extensive experience resolving complex title defects such as disputed easements, boundary issues, lien priority challenges, chain of title concerns, title insurance coverage questions, quiet title actions, and declaratory matters.

She regularly assists business clients of the firm by reviewing wage garnishments served on employees and helping prepare accurate and compliant responses. Teresa handles both commercial and consumer collections and is highly trained in consumer collections compliance and regulatory requirements.

Teresa is also an active member of the firm’s Wellness, Diversity, and Professional Development Committees.

Outside the office, she enjoys staying active and spending time with her husband and their dogs.
