Shareholder Kevin Krueger joined Sandberg Phoenix in 1988 and has successfully defended product manufacturers in hundreds of catastrophic injury cases. Over the past 30 years, he has represented companies in the pharmaceutical/medical device, automotive/recreational vehicle, childcare product, tool, construction and heavy equipment industries facing products liability cases. His experience includes product and toxic tort liability, fire/arson defense and trucking matters, including rear underride bar cases, construction accidents and many, many other issues. Kevin has served as national coordinating counsel on selected litigation for a wide variety of clients. He has successfully defended cases in numerous jurisdictions to include Missouri, Illinois, Kansas, Alabama, Florida, Michigan, California, West Virginia and New York. Kevin’s appellate practice also includes successful arguments before the Missouri Supreme Court, the United States Court of Appeals (8th Circuit), the Missouri Court of Appeals (Eastern District) and the Illinois Court of Appeals (5th District).
Kevin’s success on behalf of many clients can be attributed to many factors, including his dedication to responsive communication, pursuit of excellence and his depth of experience in handling complex litigation matters. He believes, however, it is his ability to look past individual cases and ask the strategic business questions that formulate litigation strategy that has helped him to achieve remarkable results for numerous clients.
Outside his legal practice, Kevin spends time with his wife and five children, attending his sons’ college football games and daughter’s dance competitions throughout the region. He also enjoys playing racquetball and traveling, both to meet clients and to experience new places.

Served as national counsel for leading pharmaceutical company in defending claims brought by cystic fibrosis patients involving pancreatic enzymes.
Defended a $26 million fire claim against a Danish flooring manufacturer involving claims that a flooring sealant spontaneously ignited. Obtained favorable result.
Obtained favorable resolution of multiple wrongful death claims of child strangulation against major retailer of mini blinds.
Represented and obtained favorable result for a major tractor trailer manufacturer in a personal injury case that resulted in a quadriplegic injury.
Obtained favorable results and dismissals in lawsuits brought against a German ladder manufacturer for personal injury due to ladders’ alleged failure to lock properly.
Obtained summary judgment in favor of a motorcycle manufacturer involving an accident that resulted in an amputation.
Successfully defended utility vehicle manufacturer in numerous product liability matters.
Successfully defended a chemical manufacturer in popcorn lung litigation involving over 80 separate lawsuits where it was alleged exposure to a chemical that resulted in respiratory damage to plaintiffs.
Defended and obtained dismissal for a chemical manufacturer in a lawsuit alleging exposure to a chemical at a haunted house that resulted in traumatic brain injury and death.
Obtained favorable results for major tool retailer in numerous significant product liability matters alleging personal injury to include blindness.
Successfully defended a ceiling fan manufacturer in a case alleging electrical components of a fan resulted in a warehouse fire involving over $10 million in damages. Obtained full dismissal.
Represented a Korean battery manufacturer in a case involving a significant warehouse fire. Obtained a favorable result.
Successfully defended a Korean seatbelt manufacturer involving a seatbelt spool out case. Obtained full dismissal.

Kevin previously served as a member of the Sandberg Phoenix Executive Committee and Compensation Committee, the firm’s Recruiting Committee and as the Products Liability Practice Group Leader.
Kevin actively participates with the United Church of Christ and the Lindbergh School District, where he spent 15 years as the President of the Lindbergh Football Association. With his wife, Kevin founded “Sunday Night Lights,” a charity event for children with terminal illnesses that allows them to play in a flag football game, in the band, cheerlead and dance. The event provides children a respite from the issues connected with their illnesses while also raising funds to provide opportunities for additional learning and recreational activities for these children and their families.
